Moving a family home

A house move is a bigger operation than an apartment move even when the square footage is similar. Garages, side yards, attics and patios hold more than most people count, and those items tend to be heavy and awkward: tool chests, grills, outdoor sectionals, bikes, workout equipment.

To give you an accurate estimate, we ask about every space, not just the bedrooms. A video walk-through on your phone is often the fastest way to get it right.

What a home move includes

Long Beach houses we know

Long Beach and its neighbors have very different housing from one neighborhood to the next. Bixby Knolls and California Heights have older homes with original hardwood floors and narrow hallways. Lakewood is mostly single-story post-war houses with driveways, which usually means easy loading. Signal Hill has steep streets and hillside townhomes where truck placement takes some thought. We plan for each.

Downsizing

If you're moving from a house to a smaller place, decide what's going before moving day. We can move items to the new home, to a storage unit or to a family member's place in the same day if you tell us in advance, and it's cheaper than paying to move things you'll give away later.

Common questions

How many movers do I need for a 3-bedroom house?

Most three-bedroom homes need three or four movers, depending on the amount of furniture, stairs and the carry distance to the truck. We'll recommend a crew size in your estimate.

Can you make more than one drop-off?

Yes. Let us know about every stop when you request your estimate, such as the new home plus a storage unit, so we can plan the route and time.
