Most of the trouble in an apartment move comes from the building, not the furniture. Managed buildings in Downtown Long Beach and along Ocean Boulevard often require a reserved elevator, a specific move-in window, padded elevator walls and a certificate of insurance (COI) from the moving company. Older walk-ups in Belmont Shore, Alamitos Beach and the East Village bring narrow stairwells, tight turns and no elevator at all.

When you request an estimate, tell us about both buildings. If your building needs a COI, send us the management contact and the exact wording they need, and we'll coordinate it before moving day.

What we plan before the move

• Elevator and loading dock reservations at both ends
• Certificate of insurance requests from building management
• Where the truck can legally park and how far the carry will be
• Large pieces that may need to be disassembled to clear stairwells and doors
• Crew size, so the move fits inside your building's time window

Walk-ups and stairs

Second- and third-floor walk-ups are common across Long Beach. Stairs add time, so we count flights at both addresses when we estimate. For heavy items like dressers and sleeper sofas on stairs, we remove drawers, take off legs and use straps so pieces travel safely and walls stay clean.

Moving out: protect your deposit

Hallways and door frames get bumped in rushed moves. We pad door frames and use floor runners where it's needed, and we carry pieces instead of dragging them. Leave yourself time after the truck is loaded for a final walk-through and cleaning before you return keys.

Yes. Tell us the reserved window at both buildings, and we'll schedule the crew size and arrival time so the move fits inside it.

My building needs a certificate of insurance. Can you provide one?

Send us the building management's contact and the exact requirements when you book, and we'll coordinate the certificate with them ahead of your move date.
