Movers in Downtown Long Beach
Our office is on Ocean Boulevard, so Downtown moves are the ones we do most. Towers, lofts, the East Village and the Promenade, with their docks, elevators and building rules.
Moving Downtown means moving through a building
Downtown Long Beach has more managed residential buildings than anywhere else in the city: the towers along Ocean Boulevard, the newer mid-rises around Pine Avenue and the Promenade, and the converted lofts in the East Village Arts District. Almost all of them have move rules, and the rules decide how the day goes.
- Elevator reservations. Most buildings require a reserved freight or service elevator, often in a set weekday window.
- Loading docks. Some buildings require trucks to use a dock with limited clearance and limited time.
- Certificates of insurance. Property managers commonly ask the moving company for a COI naming the building. Get the exact wording from management early.
- Street parking. Downtown streets are metered and busy. Where there's no dock, plan the truck spot in advance.
Lofts and older Downtown buildings
Older Downtown buildings and loft conversions can have small elevators, wide-open floor plans and oversized furniture that was brought in before the last remodel. We measure the tight spots ahead of time and plan disassembly for large pieces.
Moving out of Downtown
Many people move from Downtown apartments into houses in Bixby Knolls, Lakewood or Signal Hill. Those moves usually mean a building with rules at one end and a driveway at the other. We plan the crew around the harder end.
Downtown Long Beach moving questions
Can you work within my building's move-in time window?
Yes. Tell us the reserved window and we'll size the crew and set the arrival time so the move fits inside it.
What if there's no loading dock?
We'll plan the closest legal place for the truck and factor the carry distance into your estimate.
