Furniture disassembly & reassembly
Big furniture doesn't always fit through doors, stairwells and elevators in one piece. We take it apart, keep every part together and rebuild it at the new place.
Taken apart carefully, rebuilt correctly
Bed frames, dining tables with removable legs, sectional sofas, wardrobes, bunk beds, large desks and bookshelves often need to come apart to move safely, and almost always need to in older stairwells and smaller elevators. Our crews bring the tools, and every bolt, bracket and cam lock goes into a labeled bag taped to the piece it belongs to.
What we commonly take apart
- Bed frames, headboards, platform beds and bunk beds
- Dining tables with removable legs or leaves
- Wardrobes, armoires and large shelving units
- Sectional sofas and modular furniture
- Desks, standing desks and office workstations
- Cribs and kids' furniture
Flat-pack furniture
Particle-board furniture from big-box stores is not built to be moved many times. Some pieces travel fine whole; others should be taken apart to avoid cracking. We'll tell you honestly which is which. If a piece is already loose or damaged, it's worth deciding whether it's worth moving at all.
Part of your move
Disassembly and reassembly are included as part of our local moves. Tell us about large or complicated pieces when you request an estimate so the crew brings the right tools and we plan the time accurately.
Common questions
